I purchased my car from the dealership in 2017. I have done all but one oil change and all of my maintenance at the service center. I always appreciated that I was notified when something was wrong and given the option to get it fixed. I have noticed this to be the case with other customers that are waiting for their cars too. The message I've always received was "we can help!" This time, I didn't leave feeling like that. I went in for an oil change and decided to do a fuel induction as it was due. So I was there for a while. It wasn't until I was paying and my car was already out front waiting for me that I was told my car has a "small oil leak." I could not get any more information than that, including how serious is it, where it's located, and how much it would cost. But more importantly, I'm disappointed that this wasn't brought to my attention sooner and I wasn't given an option to get this taken care of while I waited. The message I received this time was "good luck with that." I still have a small oil leak and now need to spend even more of my time getting this fixed.

Vehicle did not have all the options i asked for and it took 3 hours the next day to complete the transaction. I originally initiated the purchase the day before and put a 1000$ purchase. I did not receive a printout with information about the vin options of the car i purchased, had to pay an extra 1000 that was not disclosed and was not informed to bring the deed for my trade in till the next day.

I had an appointment for 11am and had already described before the appointment the problems with the vehicle, Equinox. To begin, no one greets you or even recognize you are there. When I approached a worker he said, "stay over there by your car and someone will help you in a minute!" When Blake Ball came to help I told him my name and I said there is a list of things wrong. 1. Car won't stay in Neutral in the car wash. 2. Radio turns off when my phone is near. 3. Rear button doesn't always open the rear gate. 4. Bright lights on/off when other vehicle approaching at night used to work but didn't work that way when I drove at night the other night. Blake Ball pushed the back button to open the rear gate, he got it to open so he said it didn't need service. Issue with the Radio, he said many people have complained about the same issue, nothing they can do, no service for that! Issue with the car not staying in Neutral in the car wash; he asked me to take him to the car wash with me so he could see what happens! Really! I said no, so he said they wouldn't look at that either. 4. Issue with lights. He said, the lights can't be checked because the shop closes at 5pm and it's not night or dark for them to see what happens. Really??? So I said that there is no reason to leave my car? Pretty much.... I told Blake Ball I was going to report this. I left a message for Ben Taylor the service manager and he called me back. I told him what happened, he made excuses for Blake, he's new, he needs more training. This young man talked down to me as an older woman and disrespected my intelligence. My Equinox is pretty new, I leased it in November it only has 2770 miles. I have leased many Equinox over the years without any problems. I hate this vehicle. Now what? I have to drive this car for 3 years with it's problems and wash my car myself because it can't go through a car wash. Very disappointed with Al Serra!!!

My wife brought our Traverse in to your dealer to have the exhaust looked at under the extended warranty. Once diagnosed I was told the flex pipe had broken and the studs holding the resonator pipe to the muffler had broken as well, but in more general terms than that. I was also told the rear brakes would need replaced soon. The flex pipe was under warranty and the resonator pipe would be $1700 to replace. I confirmed that the resonator pipe was only bad because of the broken studs and requested a picture through the text conversation sent to me when checking in the vehicle. I never received that picture. Luckily I work for General Motors where that engine was originally tested. I knew the studs in our exhaust are almost always a threaded stud or pressed in stud, and both can be easily replaced with a little work and $5 worth of hardware. This option was never offered to me. I declined the repair and had them only do the warranty work. My wife then picks the vehicle up louder than before with a new flex pipe installed and the resonator pipe detached from the muffler system. I expected this to be the case, but did not expect that the service advisor would then tell my wife to go down the street to muffler man and have them look at it. My wife drove straight there. They looked it over, extracted the studs, installed a new gasket and mated the two faces using a few exhaust grade bolts, nuts, and lock washers. They charged her $80 with a 1 year warranty for the repair. She also had them replace the rear brakes while they had it in there. So I guess my question is.. Why didn’t you guys offer to do this at a cost with notes in the service order about the repair? You could of even offered $100 and no warranty that it would last and I still would have done it for the savings and convenience over taking it down the road. I just feel this was a missed opportunity to make the company some extra cash (about $600) over a bit of extra work and shop supplies. A little bit less stress on our customers too. Ck engine light was on. Prob was allegedly fixed. Drive truck home; it was fine. A few hrs later we went out and ck engine light on again. Onstar ran diagnostics - it was the SAME cides for what was supposedly just fixed. We had same prob at Simms Chevrolet last yr either emissions evap system - it took them THREE times bef they actually got issues fixed. That’s why we came back to Al Serra. Now it looks like you have the same issues with things actually being fixed in one visit.

I made an appointment a week in advance, the lady on the phone even confirmed my part was there. AirBag Safety Recall work. 11am on 7/2. I scheduled this on my day off so I didnt have to arrange any transportation When I got there , I was greeted by Jacob. He was amazing. In the bay area was an Orange Corvette. I noticed it not only because it was Orange, but because of the vanity plate. I asked Jacob how long the service would take, he said just a couple of hours. About the 5 hr mark, I texted for a status update, and my truck hadn't even been touched! So I went and got it. I then spoke to Ben, the Service Manager... I simply asked, why my work wasn't done? Do I not matter because I'm not paying anything for this? Told him his scheduling sucked. He gave me his card, and offered to do what he can to fix this. Now I'm kinda worried to take it back for the fix. I do, and will hold Al Serra responsible if in the event the Air Bags deploy.... and fail. They had the truck, the part, and the time. Their customer service failure rate is about the lowest I have seen .

I had a lease through Hank Graff in Davison. I spent the morning with them test driving and having them run numbers for me. I decided I would run to Al Serra to see what they could do. I was introduced to Katie Lewis by the general manager. I told her exactly what I was looking for. While she worked on the numbers for me, she had used cars come take a look at my trade in. Come to find out, Al Serra was able to buy out my lease and give us some extra money. The Equinox Katie quoted me on also had a safety package that Hank Graff did not. Everyone from the general manager, the used car manager, and Katie Lewis were amazing and very knowledgeable. I ended up with a better Equinox with less payments than Hank Graff. I would recommend everybody check out Al Serra and buy atleast one car from Katie Lewis. 🤣 I told her I would see her in 3 years. I absolutely hate the lease turn in process and trying to find another vehicle. All in all, both dealerships done an amazing job but Al Serra was on top that day. Thanks again to the whole Al Serra team.

Happy with the repairs on my truck. Spent $2k at the service center. Knock sensors, harness, ABS sensors, brakes rotors. Would have appreciated a cash discount offered, a current coupon of a couple bucks off or some kind split payment option, non were offered. There is a $585 charge for an ABS assessment. Service provider did not explain that went toward the repair as well and I almost didn’t get that done because I was concerned about the cost of repair on top of that. I have another car getting serviced in Cadillac and the manager Ethan called me to let me know the part is in for that car while in the Chevy building and asked him about the high assessment cost for ABS light and he informed me that would go toward repair so, I did go ahead with that because of his explanation and he set me up with a rental for the day while the rest of repairs were completed, took about 7 hours, was glad it was done same day. Personally, taking the time to explain things in detail will help customers make a better financial decision and have a better understanding of what their money is going towards, is something I value. I think service providers forget that the customer doesn’t always know that assessment fees go towards repair or that there is an option to rent a car etc. Also, when picking the truck up a different guy came over to ring me up and I felt rushed while he didn’t even know what work I had done or what vehicle I had. When someone is spending that much money and getting that much work done give them the same service person or inform whoever is taking over a synopsis of what was done on the vehicle so they can share that with the customer and have a nice closing leaving the customer with no questions and feeling appreciated for choosing that dealership..

Very disappointed that we had to come back from our vacation two days early, only to find out that GM is aware of the problem but has no solution. If it happens again, what are we to do? I brought my car in for an oil change, a part that was ordered needed to be installed and a check on a coolant smell. I had an appt at 7am. Per my Chevy app my car sat in parking lot with no oil change . I text at 1230 to see the status as the app said it was still in the same place it was hours before they said they were working on it but the app reflected it was just sitting in the parking lot.Suddenly the car was moved to the garage reflected oul change was done and then moved again to the other side of the garage I was told I would get a text when car was done which never happened. Maybe my app was wrong. Not a great experience for.sure.

Well I initially went in for a routine oil change and was informed that I had a radiator leak. The salesman looked in and stated I was had an warranty in which I had a 100.00 deductible upon talking with manager he stated if I would get it service today, they would wave my deductible. Delivered my 2015 Corvette to your service department for a noise I’m hearing when releasing the clutch in first gear. After the car was there for 3 days or so the service writer called and asked me to come in and drive the car with him to make sure they are hearing the same noise that I am. So I came in and drove the car with the service writer and after a little warm up the noise was heard by both of us. Then about 3 days later the service writer called and said the tech couldn’t get the car to make the noise and told me to pick up the car as no issues were determined. Upon picking up my car I voiced my concerns with the service writer Which was a different one and the other service writer was off that day. I had her check with the tech again and she came back after her discussion and told me it must be different driving styles. I’ve never heard such a diagnosis in my life. I really hope the noise I’m hearing doesn’t cause further damage as Al Serra will receive a more serious review than this one. Word of advice. Don’t take your expensive car there for service!

Agreed to purchase on a Saturday filled out all paperwork. Didn’t hear back anything until very end of day Monday. Then what I heard was it was approved no details. When we test drove the vehicle we told salesman about sticky stuff all over steering wheel. He said there was tape he pulled off put it would all be taken care of during prep. Had to follow up with dealer on status. We agreed to pick up Thursday evening (5p.m.) paperwork was sent to us to sign at 4:00p.m. Which made it hard to look over since we were driving to dealership. Since it was so late we just had a quick overview of car with salesman. Steering wheel was still sticky so salesman cleaned it up but as I was leaving put my hand in sticky spot again. Also had white stuff on middle counsel and spots on door frame. Need to hire new car detailer if it even went through that process.

Experience was nothing special. Didn't care for being referred to as "Bud". Also, when I made the appointment, it would have been nice to know that my vehicle needed other service based on the mileage. I declined because I hadn't had the opportunity to plan for the additional expense. When you indicate on the receipt that the customer declined the service you should also not that it was due to your incompetence in not notifying the customer ahead of time.

Cody found every possible way to save me money with repairs, and even helped to get a discount on my Enterprise rental - which wvery bit counts being these things are expensive. Repairs were accurate and seems to have fixed the problem.

Service rep signed me in quickly for the low heat problem i was having. He then recommended the fuel injection Service since I was getting close to the recommended schedule. He did not mention the cost of this service until after I signed the authorization. Afterwards I remembered that I had prepaid for recommended services at the time of signing the lease at Feldman Chevrolet in Highland. I had to pay Serra because the prepaid was only covered at Feldman. So I'm not happy about Serra's service department

When I arrived on Friday as scheduled I was told there was no loaner car for me but I previously arranged for a loaner car and I ask for SUV because I have spinal stenosis it makes it hard to get out of a low seating car but since it was no loaner car for me and I didn’t not have a car they arranged me to get a car at enterprise later than scheduled which messed up my plans for Friday and enterprise only had a Malibu and it’s is very painful for me to get out of that car so I had to take that bc I have an oil leak really should have gave you a one star I was disappointed appointed

Dropped off my wife's car(with an appointment) Jan 2nd(Friday) was told it should be done later that day. After no call for 4 days my wife had our salesman call over there and see what was going on(she was already at the dealership with her daughter looking for cars), he was unable to reach our service advisor. Later that day she called the service department herself and was also unavailable to reach the service advisor, so she talked to someone that told her that her car was just finished up.(Tuesday). We had no issues with the car it was just a recall so why did it take 4 working days with not a dam phone call to get out car back? I currently have my car over there now for the last 2 days and guess what no update call from the service advisor on its progress, but they told my wife it would only take a day. Lol ya right this is Al Serra Chevrolet service department. I will stick with bowman for service after this,and Bowman washes your car after service.

Excellent service writer, and problem was fixed promptly. But there was one glitch. They said they tried replacing a blown fuse. Apparently he “borrowed” a fuse from the rear wiper, Now the wiper is dead- with a blown fuse. I personally replaced that fuse, and now all is well!

I brought my vehicle in to be serviced for a check engine light and traction control service light. I was told that there was nothing wrong and they could not find anything. Picked it up and then had to bring it back 3 different times for the same service lights and was told the same thing. This cost me EVERY TIME I brought it in. On the 4th visit for the exact same situation, I was told it was a cracked head. I had it repaired and paid AGAIN. The first time I drove my vehicle after picking it up, the same services lights came on. It broke down right after the service lights came and I was on the expressway. I had to wait for a tow truck and PAID FOR THAT!! My vehicle was then towed back to Al Serra. Then I was told it was the cam shaft. Had that fixed and AGAIN paid for it. When I picked up my vehicle from having the cam shaft replaced, the check engine light was on when they brought it out to me. I was told that the light was not cleared after they test drove it, and that it was fine and not bringing up any codes. However The first time I drive it after picking it up THE SAME LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN!!
